year-of-the-tigerHello and welcome to my first Newsletter for 2010!

The Year of the Metal Tiger and You

The Year of the Metal Tiger begins on February 4th, 2010. It should be clarified that the Solar New Year is based on the Hsia calendar or Solar Calendar beginning February 4, and the Chinese New Year celebrations are based on the Lunar Calendar which falls on the 14th February 2010. The Chinese acknowledge the yin and yang energies of each year; the yang (solar, masculine) new year, and celebrate the yin (lunar, feminine) new year.

After the roller coaster ride of the past two years, I am sure you are hoping for some good news. You can expect a very productive year, lots of new ideas, inventions, and discoveries. The Tiger is also referred to by element as Yang Wood. Yang Wood brings optimism, confidence, and the ability to move forward.

The year of the Tiger represents the birth of a new day, the first rays of light after the darkness of the night!

To get a general feel of the energy of 2010, look back at 1950 which was also a Metal Tiger Year. After the hardship of the depression and the second world war, 1950 was the beginning of a new revolution in music, dance, acting, and dress style. Walt Disney drew his plans for Disneyland. In small towns throughout America, artists like Elvis were just being noticed. Overall the 50's was a time of optimism, inspiration and renewed creativity, so 2010 will have this flavour.

Its not all good news though! We can still expect some political & financial instability next year. Military conflict between countries may escalate. The chinese astrology charts of President Obama and President Rudd are challenging next year. When the President of a country (the captain of the ship) has a challenging year, it means the country will also be challenged. Some great schemes will survive, and others will not, so ensure you thoroughly investigate everyone before investing.

What are your four pillars?

In chinese astrology we analyse your hour pillar, day pillar, month pillar and year pillar. Each pillar has two characters. For instance, 2010 is the year of Yang Metal & Wood Tiger.

If you click on this link you can calculate your four pillars. Your four pillars chart will be set out something like this: -

Hour Pillar
Day Pillar
Month Pillar
Year Pillar
Yang Earth
Yang Wood
Yin Water
Yang Metal
Earth Dragon
Wood Tiger
Earth Sheep
Wood Tiger

The year of the Tiger is a 'Travel Star' so people will feel more restless in 2010. If you have been putting off moving house, or renovating, travelling overseas, changing jobs, or starting a business, the Tiger will get you moving. In fact, if you have a Rat, Monkey, or Dragon in your four pillars, the year of the Tiger is your Travel Star.

If you have a Rabbit in your four pillars, the year of the Tiger will make you more sociable and attractive. Romance may blossom!

If you see Yin Metal in your day pillar, or Yin Metal in your year pillar, you will encounter people who are supportive and beneficial this year!

feng-shui-image Feng Shui Energies for 2010

The Annual Flying Stars are the feng shui energies that relate to the compass directions on the Earth Chart or World Chart for the 2010.

Unlike a feng shui analysis of your home which is unique and extremely accurate, the Annual Flying Stars for the compass directions are more general, but may have some impact on your life this year, especially if your front door, office or bedroom is located in the South West, or the North East.

5 = Misfortune and bad luck

If your front door or office is located in the South West, your finances and business may be challenging this year. If your bedroom is located in the South West, your health and relationships may be more challenging this year. The sound of metal neutralizes this misfortune star, so I recommend a Tibetan Tingsha, Tibetan Bell, Singing Bowl or Brass Bells, which must be chimed on a regular basis.

2 = Sickness

If your front door or office is located in the North East, your health may deteriorate this year thereby affecting your business & finances. If your bedroom is located in the North East, you may have more health problems this year which could put a strain on your relationships. Place 6 Chinese Coins in the relevant area. The sound of metal also neutralizes this sickness star, so I recommend a Tibetan Tingsha, Tibetan Bell, Singing Bowl or Brass Bells, which must be chimed on a regular basis.

8 = Prosperity

If your office or shop is located in the Center or a building, you will find your finances & business will improve this year. If your bedroom is located in the Center of your home, your health and relationships may improve this year.

9 = Fame & Good Reputation

If your office or shop is located in the North West, because of your growing reputation and fame, your finances and business may improve this year. If your bedroom is located in the North West, your health and relationships may improve this year.

Feng Shui For your convenience, all of these remedies are available from my Feng Shui Shop

The North East is also where the Grand Duke resides this year. Try to avoid or minimize construction and digging here. If it is unavoidable, you may experience delays, equipment breakdowns and unforeseen obstacles.

Annual time stars are far more accurate when analysed in conjunction with the unique feng shui chart of your home or building, which is based on the year your home, shop or office was built and the exact facing direction. Therefore, a comprehensive feng shui consultation is recommended to predict and improve your unique situation.

Feng Shui Tips

To welcome in the optimistic and productive energies of the Metal Tiger, start de-cluttering your home, office or shop now. Remove anything that is broken, you don't like or don't use. Get rid of gifts you don't like which are hidden in drawers or cupboards somewhere. Sell them on Ebay or give them to your favourite charity. These things energetically and emotionally drag you down and keep you from moving forward. You will be amazed how good you will feel when you remove 'old stuff' from your life.

Clutter in any area of your home, shop, or office will be blocking a part of your life. You will feel like you are stuck or stagnating. So get things moving and de-clutter your life!
